Ride Bike Grandma Roo's House

Lizzie has a cute neighbor that lives down the road that she calls Grandma Roo and because the weather has been nice, she rides her bike while I push Jonathan in the stroller. I will ask her if she wants to ride her bike, and she says, "Sissy ride bike go Grandma Roo's House." She also adds, "Sissy wear helmet. Mommy push Jonan in stroller." She stops and waves at the cars going by, the Christmas trees, and the rock animals that our neighbors have. She rides her bike down the sidewalk and up the driveway and we follow behind.

It's Not Working

This picture isn't about the story below, but it is a cute one of Darren building a big tower for Lizzie to knock down.

We have been working on potty training Lizzie. It is a slow and not very successful process, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Anyways, when she does go, I like to give her a sticker and a treat and then we usually call Daddy. Last week, we called Darren and he was not able to answer his phone, so I thought she could just leave a message. She started saying "Daddy" and waited for a response. She did this a couple of times and then says, "Mommy, it's not working."

Go Cougars

What a perfect day for a football game! We took the family down to watch the final home game of the BYU season. The Cougs won and Lizzie paid more attention to the game than she does during sacrament meeting. Mom and Dad thanks for letting us go with you.

Lizzie can sing the cougar song and can almost spell C-O-U-G-A-R-S. She sees the letter Y and says BYU. She thought that the cheer, "Go Mighty Cougars" said "Go Mommy's Cougars" and then would substitute Mommy with Daddy. Now that football season is coming to a close, we can focus on teaching her more important things like her ABC's, colors, numbers, etc.

It's Autumn Time

Darren and Lizzie worked outside on Saturday and had so much fun with the leaves. The weather was beautiful and they worked so hard to get all of the leaves cleaned up. Unfortunately, a storm blew in on Sunday, and more leaves fell, so they'll have to do it again tonight. Oh well, Lizzie enjoyed being out there with Dad, I don't think she'll mind doing it again. It snowed today! The raking will have to wait for the snow to melt. Crazy Idaho weather.

Happy Halloween

Lizzie's Auntie Emily gave her a ladybug raincoat, umbrella, and belt which inspired me to make her a ladybug costume. She had a fun time going from house to house. This is the first year that she actually could understand the concept of Trick or Treating and had a fun time knocking on each door. She would sometimes say Trick or Treat before the door was opened, but our cute neighbors would give her candy anyways.

Jonathan and Lizzie wished Grandma Viehweg a Happy Halloween for their first Trick or Treating Experience of the year.

LuAnn had a Spooky Dinner last week, and we forgot to take our camera, sorry to Sonia and Rosemary for no pictures. Lizzie had a lot of fun painting her own pumpkin and chasing her cousins around the house. The house was decorated so cute with pumpkins, ghosts, spiders and spider webs lurking all around the house. The food was spooky looking but very delicious, so very spookilicious. I had to say, "Eeew" when I saw eyeballs included in one of the entrees. We had a fun time and Lizzie especially enjoyed parading around as "Lizzie the Ladybug."

Jonathan "Baby Brother"

Jonathan is such a good baby. He sleeps through the night and kind of calls for us instead of cries. Lizzie has extra baby radar and says "check baby"or "baby crying" before we even hear him yelp. She loves to run into his room, climb on her stool by his crib and look in on him. She will ask, "What's a matter buddy?" He is a happy baby and has started to laugh a little. Lizzie was telling us how a horse sounds and Jonathan started laughing. It was so cute to hear him giggle and Lizzie would start laughing which would make Jonathan laugh even more.

He has a full head of hair, which Darren jokes about and says that he gave him all that he had. Darren also gave him his long and lean body. His little toes are all the same size! It's hard to believe that 3 months have already gone by. It feels like we just brought him home from the hospital. I'll write about that experience a little later.

Lizzie the Big Sister

Lizzie is such a good big sister to her brother Jonathan. She likes to get his diaper for him and shows him all of her dance and singing moves. When people ask what his name is, she says "baby brother". Other times, she calls him "Jon-an" and she throws her "bakesball" to him so he can learn to catch it. She has a little habit of putting her hands in her mouth, and we have been telling her "no hands". She helps Jonathan when he puts his hands in his mouth, she pulls his fingers out of his mouth and says "Fingers Buddy" or "No hands Buddy".

Don't Worry Baby

Auntie Emily came into town, and as usual, Lizzie put on a show. She loves Emily's Mac computer because she can watch herself dance and sing. Darren didn't know that we were recording, but you can see where Lizzie gets her dance moves. The end of this little clip is Hilarious!

Snowbird is just a great place to be with the family. We rode the tram up and Dad took this picture of us at the top. This is our little family. This picture was taken in August, and Lizzie was 2 years and 3 months and Jonathan was 1 month old. Darren especially had fun on this snowbird trip because he rode his bike down from the tram. I don't think he was as extreme as Chris and Nate when they would go straight down the mountain, but he had fun and came home without injury, so that was good. He is already planning for next year, now that he knows what to expect.
